February 2010 Issue

We are now offering Jazz in London as an A5 PDF. To study the programmes on screen the sequential format is normally more convenient as you can simply scroll the document vertically. The sequential format presents individual pages in the order they appear in the booklet.

When it comes to printing out, many users will have printer drivers which have the capability to take this same sequential source format and print out in booklet form with 2 A5 sides on single  A4 pages. Indeed many public use printers in companies, Internet cafés and public libraries will automatically print 2 x A5 outputs on single A4 as a paper saving measure.  If you only have a basic printer then, to achieve the same end, you can download the booklet format, select 'print even pages' - print and then remove the A4 printed pages, invert them and place them back in the paper feed; then select 'print odd pages'. This should give you multiple pages printed on both sides which may be folded  and stapled down the centre-fold to form a multi page A5 sized booklet.

Remember that PDF, when viewed on-line, provides active pages in the sense that web links and e-mail addresses can be clicked on-line. Also amendment indications (in red) can be expanded with details in a pop-up note by hovering the curser over the amendment.
