What is Way Out West
Way Out West is a co-operative enterprise formed by a group of West London based musicians. It aims to develop a healthy environment for the celebration of live music in West London. Current efforts are focused on a weekly club programme at the Ram Jam Club behind the Grey Horse in Kingston and a monthly programme of events at The Questors theatre in Ealing. WOW aims to cover the cost of proper professional fees from admission receipts at these gigs. But there are also costs associated with, advertising, promotion and piano (acquisition and tuning) and unfortunately not all gigs cover themselves on the night. To cover this the group promotes fund-raising events from time to time and in the current year (2008) have been awarded a grant from the Performing Rights Society. Of course the best way of supporting the club is to come more often and introduce friends but not everyone is able to or wants to come every week.
If you feel generally supportive of WOW's aims and wish to make an individual contribution to the support fund then you can do this by sending a cheque to:
The WOW Treasurer (currently Chris Biscoe), 27a, Crescent Road, Kingston-on-Thames, Surrey, KT27RD. Make it payable simply to Way Out West.
