Long serving, baritone sax wielding anchorman from Sax Appeal, Bob will be playing everything from Cole Porter to Joni Mitchell. Relaxed acoustic interpretations, driving jazz and even the odd groove! A wide variety of instrumental textures and musical styles from an eclectic but accessible band.

Shan Chana, a new face for WoW replaces Paul Clarvis on percussion.

16  Nette Robinson's Little Big Band gets Lost - a Tribute to Chet Baker

featuring Tony Woods (alto sax) and Robin Harris (tbn), Chris Nickolls (dms), Will Hyland (bass)

As a founding member of WoW, songstress Nette needs no introduction to regular WOWers. She has already established her credentials with her slimmed down arrangements of the old big band favourites from Basie, Ellington etc. for a small group setting in the aptly named Little Big Band. Most of us remember Chet Baker as the lyrical trumpet counterpoint in the classic Gerry Mulligan Quartet but he was perhaps better known to the general public as the trumpet-playing crooner, an imaginative interpreter of the great American Songbook and it is obviously this angle that has inspired Nette. Between them they will pay tribute to the legacy of the great Chet Baker.

Questors gigs resume in September

23 The The Chris Biscoe Quartet with Ingrid Laubruck  (@ The Ram Jam)

plus John Edwards (bass), Tony Marsh (drums).

Tob UK Improvisers rework Ornette, Monk, Mike Osborne, and some of their own creations.

Ingrid delighted WoW with Chris' Quartet a few ago when, on that occasion, she was depping for cellist Ben Davis.

An evening of robust, free improvisation not for anyone of a nervous disposition.
